Adventure seekers will get to experience off-road thrills in the heart of Sanctuary Cove next month when a purpose-built 4×4 course rises from the ground for the inaugural OutdoorX.

To be held from September 13-15, the all-new outdoor lifestyle event will see the 4×4 Zone play host to several of the industry’s biggest brands such as SLRV Expedition Vehicles, BMW Motorrad, Patriot, Maxtrax and Holroyd Utowpia.

Frizelle’s Sunshine Automotive Group has also signed on as an exhibitor and will showcase its incredible range of vehicles including the best from Mazda, VW Commercial, Isuzu, Ford Ranger and RAM.

Other exhibitors across the three-day interactive event include Caravan HQ, which is set to showcase top names Royal Flair and On the Move, Patriot Campers and trailerboat brands Makocraft, Nitro, Black Dog Cat, Hurricane and Rib Force Inflatables.

Multiple precincts will showcase the latest in outdoor lifestyle products, while the 4×4 Activation Zone will feature a challenging course designed in partnership with exhibitor Gold Coast Four Wheel Drive Club that will allow visitors to receive a taste of the off-road lifestyle for a gold coin donation.

Mulpha Events General Manager Johan Hasser said the purpose-built, off-road course highlighted the event’s commitment to creating an interactive experience for visitors.

“Our vision for OutdoorX is to connect people with an outdoors lifestyle and there is no better example of that than building our very own 4×4 course,” he said.

“We want visitors to not only be able to talk with our exhibitors but see, touch and feel their products so they can truly appreciate the exciting opportunities they open up.

“By bringing the great outdoors to Sanctuary Cove, we are giving them the chance to join the team from Gold Coast Four Wheel Drive Club for a loop of the course complete with its dips, logs and angles and get a true off-road experience.”

Gold Coast Four Wheel Drive Club President, Chris Nelson said their members could not wait to share their love of off-roading with OutdoorX visitors.

“Sanctuary Cove provides the perfect base for this type of interactive show and it’s going to be great fun showing people the thrills of 4WDing,” he said.

“We have a few tricks up our sleeve for creating a course that will give people a great insight into the power of today’s off-road vehicles, the skills of our drivers and the good times to be had by leaving the bitumen behind.”

In addition to the challenging course, 4×4 exhibitors will host education sessions, vehicle inspections and driver demonstrations, including for the renowned SLRV Expedition Vehicles that are purpose-built for the ultimate off-road traveller.

OutdoorX has attracted a host of high-profile exhibitors from across the spectrum of outdoor lifestyle products including caravan manufacturers Nova, Trakmaster and Alpine, KEA and Paradise Motorhomes and Trayon and Cub campers.

German motorcycle brand BMW Motorrad is planning an eye-popping exhibit including a high-powered stunt rider, while Sirocco Marine North will host sea trials of the latest BRIG inflatable boats on the beautiful waters surrounding Sanctuary Cove.

OutdoorX will also see the likes of cooking demonstrations, live music and street performers bring The Marine Village to life, while the precinct’s array of restaurants, cafes and bars will prove popular.

The OutdoorX Fishing Competition, to be hosted by Channel 7 personality Paul Burt and the Gold Coast Sport Fishing Club, will allow adults and children to fish for great prizes. Paul Burt will also use OutdoorX as the backdrop to produce a special live Facebook edition of his popular television program Step Outside with Paul Burt! which airs on the Seven Network’s 7MATE channel

A fun day out for the whole family, early-bird tickets are on sale until 12 September for $10 (one day) with children under 15 years free.

Free onsite parking will also be available to OutdoorX visitors.
